During the summer time, teenage students will study English and have fun with other international students at our Summer Junior Program at UCSB, located in a university dormitory just blocks from the famous Sands Point Beach. Offered during July and August, it includes our 20-lesson per week Semi-Intensive English Course, on-campus accommodation and daily afternoon activities. You are sure to meet new international friends from all over the world!
During the winter time, Junior students also have the opportunity to study with us at our main school during the month of January. The Winter Junior Programs is offered to students between the ages of 14-17. This program gives young learners the opportunity to study English and live with an American host family while engaging in social and cultural activities and excursions with their peers, teachers and staff.
Once here, you will never want to leave the beautiful city of Santa Barbara, California. Our schools are located close to some of the best beaches in the world.
Our Summer school is just a short five-to-ten minute walk from the Sands Point Beach, located in a university dormitory that includes an onsite pool, fitness facilities, and cafeteria. Classes also take place on campus.
Our Winter school is just a short ten-minute walk from the beach. It is located in an award winning building across the street from the most famous building in Santa Barbara, the Santa Barbara Courthouse (an architectural and historical landmark). Just two blocks from State Street. Every day almost half of our students bike, skateboard or rollerblade to school. The neighborhood around the school, referred to as the arts and culture area of Santa Barbara, is pleasantly crowded with outdoor cafes, restaurants, music clubs, historical attractions, and fabulous shopping.

Begin on any Saturday, June 23 – August 2
Semi-Intensive English Course
20 lessons per week (one 80-minute and two 60-minute in-classroom lessons per day – Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 12:40 p.m.)
Full-board residence accommodation (18 meals per week including breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday-Friday, breakfast and dinner on Saturday and breakfast only on Sunday)
Daily afternoon activities (Monday-Friday)
Full-day excursion each Sunday
Optional evening and Saturday activities/excursions

Junior students also have the opportunity to study at ELC Los Angeles, Boston and Santa Barbara during the month of January. The Winter Junior Programs are offered to students between the ages of 14-17. This program gives young learners the opportunity to study at ELC and live with an American host family while engaging in social and cultural activities and excursions with their peers, teachers and staff.
Saturday to Saturday, minimum 2-week stay
Semi-Intensive English Course – 20 lessons per week, 50 minutes per lesson
Homestay (double occupancy/at least two students per family, 14 meals per week)
Airport transfer (included in the transportation fee, valid for Saturday arrivals and departures between 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.)
